Has Duffy changed more then her last name?

Peace be with you

Today at the supes meeting Item 12 was pulled from the agenda by Gill Duffy (the supervisor previously known as Geist). The Item was a grant from the “California Endowment providing Funding for Safe Sustainable Transportation.” I could really get behind providing safe sustainable transportation, but unfortunately this $274,664 grant provides absolutely nothing.

You’ll have to watch the meeting yourself, because I am more confused now then before the item was called. The quarter of a million plus dollars, I assume, is to go to “educate” you that riding a bus is healthier, and overweight people need to exercise more – I think. There may or not be one and a half new hires, but I’m not sure.

My assumption is, it is just “funds” Crandall wants. Crandall, and whoever that woman with him was (maybe his new propaganda minister), seemed almost groveling when begging for the grant. Somehow we are to believe that Crandall spending $274,664 on ads would create more “Safe Sustainable Transportation” then say lowering bus fares by 300 thousand would.  History tells us that Crandall will take this money, spend little or none on education, and use the rest to prop up one of his other costly programs.  Probably a rope ’em and dope ’em program at that.

I have to say though, that this was the first example of a supe showing any critical thinking skills since Roger Rodoni questioned pot enforcement.  One supervisor disagreeing with Crandall, once out of millions of times, ain’t really much of a county government to be proud of, but if it was a start then maybe we’d have something. Call Jill (707) 476-2395, and tell how damn proud you are she finally took a stand against the county boss – Phillip Crandall.

There is a massive advertising campaign going on:
probably easily costing $100 million and up……

You probably seen it or heard it on radio, TV, newspaper,

The Ad campaign is called: Depression is real.[ should be called knowingly peddlin’ dangerous drugs is a real sin]

The following text copy is \
from Newsweek magazine March 2, 2009:

Depression is real. So is hope[then drug the president of the u.s.] Because medical science [as opposed to junk science] has uncovered the biological basis [as opposed to the tax basis] for depression and proven [as opposed to made-up shit] treatments are effective.

And that can change your whole direction in life.
[as opposed to causing a psychiatric-drug induced killing, suicide ??????]…….

American Psychiatric Foundation [using their tax-free cash to peddle this massive ad campaign lies????????]
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance [also using their tax-free cash to peddle psychiatric drug regimen ?????]
League of United Latin American citizens
    Mental Health America
    National Alliance on Mental Illness
    National Urban League

Somehow your post ended up in spam.

I haven’t seen the ads, but already figured they were here. There seems to be massive over medication and over diagnosis of “bipolar.” It seems that if your depression is labeled bipolar then you get more expensive a-typical anti-psychotics.

Phillip looked sad for some reason on the archived streaming of this agenda item. During today’s meeting, the approval of Board orders (Consent calender D-4) was only about money, imo, since one of the most healthy, sustainable forms of transportation – historical too – is walking. No money is needed to go walking, especially in a community which seems to have ample places to walk, and walk safely. As far as Juvenile Hall, well, just another waste of resources to incarcerate youth, rather than educating parents to educate their own children regarding the pitfalls of life. $12.93 million dollars to be spent on a new juven “hale hitler” hall. I wonder if the supporters for today’s Agenda Item D-8 support this juvee concept, as well as, internment camps?
