Humboldt County Human Rights Commission turns a Deaf Ear to the Houseless

Peace be with you

The Human Rights Commission has revised their speakers list concerning the inquiry of “Human Rights Violations against the Houseless,” but it still is missing the most important group – THE HOUSELESS!  I certainly like several of the people on the list now, and believe they at least will be more honest then the cops, busyness owners, and poverty pimps.  However having only one houseless person, and one with a golden ticket to be one of a dozen people in all Humboldt County to stay at a non-mandatory religious shelter at that, I can only believe that they are just promo group for the “low income housing/ continuum of care” scam that is ripping off the tax payer off, and violating the rights of those without housing.

This is akin to the cops coming to you and saying “You didn’t witness anything, what do you think happened?”. The houseless are the ones who are getting their human rights violated, not their advocates. How could you ever hope to know about somebody if you are afraid to listen to their concerns.

The National numbers claim that only 10% of the homeless are CHRONIC, which leaves 9 out of every 10 houseless people as economically disadvantaged. Everyone knows the rights of the poor are under constant assault in this country, and no where is it worse than with the poorest of the poor. When you ignore the suspect class whose rights you are investigating then your just whitewashing the truth. That is exactly what is happening! The Humboldt Human Rights Commission is joining the assaults on the Human Rights of the fastest growing class in the world – the houseless.

The meeting is open to the public, and we really need help getting our voice heard.  Even the so-called rebels don’t seem inclined to stop the status-quo when it comes to the rights of the houseless.  The houseless are the canary in the mine-shaft of fascism.  Come witness the canary being choked by the HR commission, because you wont have time to notice your own suffocation next.

Tad, Is anybody with any power OK? It seems you advocate a French Revolution solution. That just left another set of nuts in charge.

Peace be with you Peasant Dreams

I am not sure what you are asking. Lord Acton wrote, “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.” The power was intended to rest in the hands of the people. Therefore, I must say NO. I am more advocating the Spanish Revolution solution, or perhaps the Russian anarchist movement during the early day of the Russian Revolution, or perhaps the early days of the American labor movement, or the Revolution going on now in Argentina as shown in the film “the take.”

What we are discussing here is the whitewashing of the reality of homelessness. When one group has the power to decide what is best for another group, based on bias spun facts, because “they know best,” then the “set of nuts” are already in charge. The economy is driving thousands into homelessness, yet the “experts” are intentionally confusing the evidence to have the exception prove their theories. Again living wage jobes, affordable housing, health care, healthy food, water and air, access to education, and freedom are what the houseless need, not poverty pimps and grant whores to “case manage” them like they are “cases.”

I really believe we should have the folks we are discussing there, But how do you get ones there that lives 70 miles from eureka and have them carry everything they own threw this metal detector?? I think the human rights should visit North,South,East and West of humboldt and let them come to talk to them.Do what I do meet them where they are at.It’s the only way it will work to have their voices heard.
THEIR VOICES NEED TO BE HEARD!!! Not ours. When we speak, we speak from a space that isn’t urgent, like it is for them.
As fair as I try to be it’s not their VOICE. I’m someone that LOVES these folks and want the best for them, but my voice will never replace theirs.
